Hello and welcome to Alcove Calligraphy! My name is Jessica. I’m so glad you found me!
My love for beautiful penmanship and calligraphy started at a young age. What started as admiration for a fellow classmate’s beautiful handwriting, stirred a constant desire in me to have beautiful penmanship as well. I continually grew in trying to perfect my own handwriting. During the COVID pandemic, I serendipitously came across a pointed pen calligraphy course that kindled and stoked that flame to a whole other level. Course after course, tutorial after tutorial, I discovered such a joy to learn more about the diverse styles of calligraphy.
What started as a way to express myself through wall art in my home quickly began to catch the attention of friends and family. Through word of mouth recommendations, I found myself creating signs and place cards for weddings and personalizations through hand engraving and foil embossing. It’s such a rewarding feeling to make someone’s special occasion meaningful with beautiful, hand lettered touches.
As a Latina owned business, I hope to encourage others that you can learn anything at any age and that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and an insatiable desire to learn. Most days, you’ll find me in my little nook with my headphones listening to an eclectic disarray of music or spending quality time with my three kiddos.
